"WISHFUL PEACE"

In her own words Luanna Flammia describes this work as a piece that is deeply rooted in how we are consumed by pressures of social media, looking and acting a certain way, the news etc. These get rich schemes fill us with hope of making a a lot of money quickly so we can live a ‘better’ lifestyle. We hope and dream all the time. For example we play the lotto and we already know what we would spend the money on if we won, we LOVE the idea. 

Gold is seen as a very ‘luxurious’ colour and we can associate it with money most of the time.This painting tries to convey this deception of perfection by using rich colours such as gold, silver, deep reds and coppers to envision a life of luxury. Looking closely into the pockets of the painting is who we truly are, layers of emotion and complex individuals.
